200 Dogs with Canine Flu to Be Quarantined for Weeks

They’ll be held for four to six weeks.

An Oakland, CA, warehouse will house 200 dogs under quarantine for canine flu.

Oakland Animal Services and the East Bay Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals are taking the dogs to the warehouse, KTVU-TV reports.

They’ll be kept there for four to six weeks.

The warehouse was outfitted with 5-foot-by-10-foot kennels.

Oakland Animal Services confirmed canine flu at its shelter on June 21, KTVU reports.

Donations of leashes and bowls have been provided by Pet Food Express, according to the news outlet. The chain and NutriSource are matching $15 donations of NutriSource dog food.
