(PRESS RELEASE) PuppTech is offering a solution to the problem of leaving dogs in vehicles or other situations when traveling, running errands or placing their pet in a new environment.

The PuppComm is a palm-sized, cloud-connected device with temperature and humidity sensors that sends real-time updates to an app on the user’s smartphone. The PuppComm also includes window stickers to let bystanders know the dog is safe, with a number they can text to receive the same information the user sees.

The PuppComm also has GPS sensors, is completely portable and can be attached to a pet’s cage or carrier so their safety can be monitored in any environment.

“I got the idea for the PuppComm after a long mountain hike with my dad and Clovis, my dog,” said PuppTech founder William Loopesko. “We went to a small restaurant after the hike to celebrate but they didn’t allow dogs, and we spent the whole meal running to the car to check on Clovis. I think all dog owners should be able to take their best friend with them on adventures like this and know that they’re safe in any environment. That’s what led to developing the PuppComm.”

To be clear, Loopesko doesn’t advise leaving animals in vehicles for extended amounts of time, but understands it’s sometimes necessary for brief periods when pet owners travel or run errands.

The PuppComm is available on PuppTech’s website for the presale price of $165 and will be available for delivery in September.
