“Now more than ever, dogs and cats awaiting their forever homes need to be cared for in a more meaningful way than just food and water,” said Teodor Strand-Johansen of Brilliant Salmon Oil in Chicago. “Here at Brilliant, our priority is making sure every pet has the chance to live their healthiest life. Pets under the care of organizations like PAWS Chicago benefit from a helping hand to make this happen. We applaud the work of PAWS Chicago and are honored to be a partner by supplying our pure Norwegian salmon oil to these adoptable pets, as the impact of COVID-19 continues to evolve. With a growing number of people at home or working remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic, we believe there are more opportunities for pet fostering or adoption, so the pets that are healthy and happy have the best chance of getting adopted. We in Brilliant are very fortunate as a company to be able to make this contribution and are pleased to do this donation. This is just one of many donation receivers, and we do still have more Salmon Oil for other shelters in need.”

NASC Media Spotlight

At first it was just an idea: Animal supplements needed the same quality control that human-grade supplements receive. But that was enough to start a movement and an organization —the National Animal Supplement Council — that would be dedicated to establishing a comprehensive path forward for the animal supplements industry. In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
