(PRESS RELEASE) Due to months of continued stay-at-home orders, pet adoptions are up by as much as 70 percent compared to this time last year. Animal shelters, now more than ever, are in need of basic supplies, which makes this the perfect time to support local shelters.

Kitten rescuer, humane educator, and New York Times bestselling author Hannah Shaw, the go-to “Kitten Lady”, recently partnered with Cat’s Pride to inform cat lovers everywhere how they can help shelter cats find forever homes through Cat’s Pride’s Litter for Good program.

In the video clip here, Hannah shares her top tips to adding a new member to the family, how to take care of your new pet, and ways to give back to animals in need through the Cat’s Pride Litter for Good donation program. Not ready for a long-term commitment? Hannah will also share her tips for fostering a kitten.

The Litter for Good program helps shelters find forever homes for cats in need while providing customers and their cats high-quality litter. For every GREEN JUG™ of Cat’s Pride litter purchased, Cat’s Pride donates a pound of litter to shelters across America. The donations are essential to helping shelters reallocate their resources toward other necessities such as medical care, spay and neuter programs, and education programs. To date, the program has donated over 8 million pounds of litter to animal shelters.

Readers can also join the free Cat’s Pride Club. The club allows members to nominate a shelter of their choice to receive donated litter from the Litter for Good program. Members also receive coupons, updates, cat tips and more.

NASC Media Spotlight

At first it was just an idea: Animal supplements needed the same quality control that human-grade supplements receive. But that was enough to start a movement and an organization —the National Animal Supplement Council — that would be dedicated to establishing a comprehensive path forward for the animal supplements industry. In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
