(PRESS RELEASE) VANCOUVER, WA – Platinum Pets has drawn on the traditional and natural methods created by the indigenous people of the Himalayas to develop its new dog chew that is free of added chemicals, preservatives, grain, gluten or hormones.

Platinum Pets’ Dog Chews From The Himalayas start with natural yak and cow milk that is transformed into cheese through the cooking process. The chews are then dried and smoked for several weeks for an irresistible, long-lasting treat that not only tastes good, but promotes good oral health and fresh breath.

“The only thing you’re going to find in our chews is yak and cow milk, salt and lime juice,” said Melissa Pedraza, Platinum Pets’ general manager. “We don’t want our pets eating anything artificial. Our retail partners have the same high quality standards for their customers.”

Unlike rawhide chews, Platinum Pets’ Dog Chews From The Himalayas are naturally flavored and processed into four sizes; small, medium, large and extra-large so consumers can easily give their dog the right portion size.

The chews are delivered to retailers in bright, playful packaging that will catch the eyes of customers and carries Platinum Pets’ theme of celebrating a pet’s colorful life. Packaging is resealable so remaining chews are kept fresh and tasty. A point-of-purchase display is also available.

NASC Media Spotlight

At first it was just an idea: Animal supplements needed the same quality control that human-grade supplements receive. But that was enough to start a movement and an organization —the National Animal Supplement Council — that would be dedicated to establishing a comprehensive path forward for the animal supplements industry. In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
