The voluntary recall is due to listeria concerns.

EATONTON, GA — Blue Ridge Beef is voluntarily recalling one of its frozen pet food products due to its potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

The affected product was distributed to retail stores in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida.

Listeria can affect animals eating the product. There is also a risk to humans from handling contaminated pet products, especially if they have not thoroughly washed their hands after having contact with the products or any surface exposed to these products.

Healthy people infected with Listeria monocytogenes should monitor themselves for some or all of the following symptoms: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, abdominal cramping and fever.
