(PRESS RELEASE) HAUPPAUGE, NY – Ancestry Pet Food, a family-owned company that provides premium quality pet food, unveiled a new packaging design for its popular Sammy Snack treat line. Along with the new packaging, the company has given the treats a new shape with a “s” stamped in the middle.

Sammy Snacks are a meatless line of treats baked with fresh, simple ingredients and a big crunch that pets love. Available in four delicious flavors (Peanut Butter, Blueberry, Cheddar Cheese and Pumpkin), Sammy Snacks are baked in the USA and are GMO free, like the rest of the Ancestry Pet Food line.

“The updated packaging truly reflects the Sammy Snack treat line and has been well received by retailers,” said Brad Gruber, president of Health Extension, the parent company of Ancestry Pet Food. “Our expert in-house design team wanted the packaging to reinforce the clean ingredients with a fresh clean look.”

Sammy Snacks come in 8oz bags. The suggested retail price for each is $7.99. Retailers interested in carrying Sammy Snacks are invited to contact their Ancestry distributor or call 800-992-9738.

NASC Media Spotlight

At first it was just an idea: Animal supplements needed the same quality control that human-grade supplements receive. But that was enough to start a movement and an organization —the National Animal Supplement Council — that would be dedicated to establishing a comprehensive path forward for the animal supplements industry. In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
