Dog Training Expert Andrea Arden Honored at Global Pet Expo 2017

(Press Release) GREENWICH, CT — The American Pet Products Association (APPA) and Pet Industry Distributors Association (PIDA) announced Andrea Arden as the 2017 recipient of Global Pet Expo’s annual Excellence in Journalism and Outstanding Contributions to the Pet Industry Award.

Arden was set to accept the award March 23 in Orlando, FL, at The Purina Media Reception at Global Pet Expo. This media-exclusive event was held in conjunction with Global Pet Expo taking place March 22-24 at the Orange County Convention Center. Global Pet Expo attendees include independent pet product retailers, distributors and mass-market buyers, media and other qualified individuals.

Arden’s career in television began 22 years ago with her Emmy award-wining show The Pet Department. Now, she is a frequent contributor to The TODAY Show, Live With Kelly, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and many others. She provides media with trends within the pet industry, tips on training and responsible pet ownership as well as pet education. She is also the on-camera trainer for Animal Planet’s America’s Cutest Dog and Cat, Dogs101, Cats101, and Underdog to Wonderdog. Arden is dedicated to utilizing her position in the media to educate pet parents about how to best enrich and prolong the lives of companion animals and advocate for rescue animals and the organizations tasked with helping them.

In addition to her television work and advocacy, Arden has been the behavior columnist for Dog Fancy, as well as a contributing writer for the AKC Gazette and Modern Dog. She has also written four books; Barron’s Dog Training Bible, Dog-Friendly Dog Training, Train Your Dog the Lazy Way, and The Little Book of Dog Tricks.
