“I am honored that so many new pet professionals have become part of our family here at American Pet Professionals. My team and I work our tails off to be able to provide value, education, community, up-to-date industry and business information, and provide constant support,” said Nancy Hassel, president and founder of American Pet Professionals.

“During the pandemic, we realized very quickly the need for added support for our members, and hosted over 70 live networking events, using Zoom of course, and over 30 webinars and ‘qebinars’ that were timely and on topic for what was going on in our world and our industry. We also pay attention to all trends both in and out of the industry, so we can bring the information directly to our members – we do the work for them!”

APP hosts regular events every month, and have incredible experts, from within and out of the pet industry that their members can learn from, and also provides content and learning in various ways. Pet professionals are extremely busy, and have multiple ways to access the information that suits their needs.

“We ask our members regularly what they need help with and who they need to meet – so it’s not just my ideas and agenda, but making sure our member’s voices are included in everything we do,” stated Nancy Hassel, president of American Pet Professionals. “We go above and beyond for our members daily, and have so much coming up on the horizon, and with nearly 20 years in the industry I am still so excited to be in it!”

NASC Media Spotlight

At first it was just an idea: Animal supplements needed the same quality control that human-grade supplements receive. But that was enough to start a movement and an organization —the National Animal Supplement Council — that would be dedicated to establishing a comprehensive path forward for the animal supplements industry. In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
