(Press Release) The World Pet Association brings together “everything aquatic under one roof” when the Aquatic Experience makes its East coast debut at the Meadowlands Expo Center in Secaucus, NJ, Oct. 19-21.
Tickets are on sale now at AquaticExperience.org. Aquatic Experience is North America’s only saltwater and freshwater show. Already a hit in Chicago for the past six years, the event will feature everything for aquarium hobbyists and aquatic enthusiasts.
Check out the live shark encounter and watch as a diver swims and interacts with sharks and explains fascinating facts about these mysterious and often misunderstood animals. A touch tank gives families an opportunity to see and touch a variety of marine animals in an educational setting. Children can participate in a free Kids Aquarium Contest and a Win A Betta! Toss. Learn which species of fish have remained virtually unchanged for over 100 million years in the Jurassic Aquarium Exhibition. See the incredible Wall of Fish featuring 36 aquariums stocked with the finest variety of ornamental tropical fish and aquatic plants.
Tackling all the top trends in aquatics — from aquascaping and live plants to LED lighting and smart aquarium designs, Aquatic Experience will showcase innovation. All the latest equipment, products and fishkeeping solutions are displayed side-by-side, allowing attendees to easily compare vendor offerings, converse with experts and share ideas with fellow enthusiasts on the show floor. Participants will also have the opportunity to participate in — or simply spectate at — a variety of competitions, from the Aquascaping Live! Contest to raffle drawings and the third annual International Shrimp Contest USA. There’s no shortage of fun for attendees with a competitive spirit.
Aquatic Experience offers a series of classes and seminars that will appeal to all interests and experience levels, to ensure you have the tools you need to fuel your passion. Featuring a host of notable speakers — including Christel Kasselman, Richard Ross, Ted Judy and Chris Lukhaup — the event’s education sessions dive deep into timely and relevant topics related to tropical fish. Explore “New Discoveries from West Papua New Guinea, Iran, Vietnam, Laos and Palau.” Or gain new perspective on “Common Sense and Controversies in the Hobby.” Whatever your interest, you’ll be sure to leave Aquatic Experience armed with new knowledge to indulge your hobby and improve your aquarium.
Hobbyists and retailers can learn about basic principles of freshwater and marine fish management and enhance their knowledge of maintenance protocols, nutrition, chemotherapeutic approaches, anatomy and more during the Fish Health Management Course.
Industry experts including George Blasiola, Chris Lukhaup, Jessie Sanders and George Farmer will be on hand to share their knowledge on a variety of important topics. Aquatic retailers can participate in seminars that will help them boost their businesses.
This year, Aquatic Experience taps into all things social and digital media, appealing to consumers’ demands for an online shopping experience. Through sessions like “Building and Maintaining a Thriving Aquatic Business in Today’s Digital World” and “Are Your Customers Finding You on Social Media?” business owners will get tried-and-true tips to boost business with the touch of a keyboard.

“We are excited to see the continued success of Aquatic Experience as an ideal gathering for all our hobbyist, retailer and manufacturer partners and look forward to bringing the event to New Jersey,” said Jacinthe Moreau, president of World Pet Association. “The industry continues to grow and engage more people than ever before, and we hope to continue to be a valuable resource for everyone who loves aquatics.”
The World Pet Association reinvests proceeds from this non-profit show into the pet industry through the WPA Good Works program benefitting a number of important organizations that foster animal education and responsible pet ownership.
