About IndiePet

IndiePet is a non-profit trade association created by and for independent and neighborhood pet retailers and the manufacturers, distributors and service providers who support them.
For decades, neighborhood pet retailers have been the critical link between cutting-edge pet products and pet parents.  Innovative manufacturers, forward-looking distributors, passionate independent pet retailers and early-adopting pet owners have created an indie pet ecosystem—an ecosystem that has driven much of the pet industry’s growth as well as significant improvements in animal wellbeing.

IndiePet is the only organization that is tightly focused on strengthening this ecosystem of approximately 8,000 independent and neighborhood pet retail locations serving pets and pet parents in North America.

NASC Media Spotlight

At first it was just an idea: Animal supplements needed the same quality control that human-grade supplements receive. But that was enough to start a movement and an organization —the National Animal Supplement Council — that would be dedicated to establishing a comprehensive path forward for the animal supplements industry. In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
