(PRESS RELEASE) Seattle-based company Austin and Kat, purveyor of premium, holistic wellness biscuits and tinctures for pets, recently expanded its territory with pet food distributor Pet Food Experts.

“We are thrilled to once again partner with Pet Food Experts,” says Kat Donatello, founder and CEO. “Launching in the Rocky Mountain region to start the new year is exciting! The expertise and knowledge retailers have in this territory is phenomenal and our new line of functional treats will meet the needs of their ever-expanding consumer base.”

With more than 300 stores in the Rocky Mountain region, Austin and Kat will promote growth by getting to know its customers well using newly hired sales staff.

“Spending time in the territory will be our key mission, and with the addition of Ryan Dermody, VP of sales and Lauren Selby, Rocky Mountain territory sales rep, we are confident the team at PFX will be supported and set up for success,” says Kat.

Austin and Kat is already distributed in PFX’s Pacific Northwest territory as of May 2019, and mobilized to engage the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, and Northeast territories as well in September 2019.

“We’ve had a marked increase in growth since launching with PFX in all regions,” Kat continues. “There’s a growing demand for our products and with this advantageous collaboration we’re able to provide our biscuits and oils to both current and new customers.”

NASC Media Spotlight

At first it was just an idea: Animal supplements needed the same quality control that human-grade supplements receive. But that was enough to start a movement and an organization —the National Animal Supplement Council — that would be dedicated to establishing a comprehensive path forward for the animal supplements industry. In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
