(PRESS RELEASE) Vital Essentials announced its partnership with Burgham Sales, a Canadian importer and distributor of pet supplies and accessories. As part of the distribution agreement, Burgham Sales will market, sell and support Vital Essentials and Vital Cat raw pet food, treats and snacks throughout Canada to more than 1,200 independent pet retailers and pet chain stores.

“We are extremely happy to be partnering up with Vital Essentials. Their premium brand will be well received by the Canadian pet specialty retailers,” said Jim Henwood, director of sales with Burgham Sales. “This growing category of raw products will offer the Canadian consumer a great option.”

Vital Essentials, headquartered in Green Bay, WI, is a premiere brand in the raw pet food category that includes innovative and unique products to pet parents worldwide. Recently recognized as the most Innovative Point of Purchase Display at an international industry tradeshow, the VE RAW BAR featuring 12 unique freeze-dried chews for cats and dogs is available only to independent pet specialty stores and has quickly become the fastest selling product line for the brand. Burgham will focus on this award-winning merchandise display and its products to introduce Vital Essentials to new markets and will quickly follow up with the full selection of freeze-dried raw food and treats.

“As a family-owned and operated company, we value and appreciate the level of personal dedication and attention to detail Burgham’s sales team brings to expanding our products in Canada. Their commitment to service and support for the brands they represent are well aligned with our mission,” said Vital Essentials VP of Sales & Marketing, Kevin Malnor.

In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
