“With misinformation being spread on the internet and at pet-centric events every day, it is vital that pet parents understand how full spectrum hemp extract can benefit their pets,” says Ardolino. “Dogs are incredibly receptive to full spectrum CBD and it can truly change their lives when used correctly. It is my goal to help pet parents around the world to learn about cannabis for animals and it all starts at events like this one.”

The event brings together three of the top holistic veterinarians and pet experts for a presentation to educate the public about holistic pet care, specifically medical cannabis. Lukas will moderate a question-and-answer session with Ardolino and panel guests including Gerald Buchoff and veterinarians Beth Hirsch of Holistic Pet Care of New Jersey and Bethany Howe of Hawkins Animal Hospital and Wellness Center. The panel will discuss the ins and outs of cannabis for pet including the legality of hemp, if THC is safe for pets, recent research, how to dose your pet for their ailment, and how to safely use essential oils for your pet.

“Being involved in veterinary medicine as a technician, I noticed a huge void in alternative medicine to truly heal our animals,” says Lukas. “When I opened my first retail store in 2017, I knew that in my new location, THEO Pet Grocery, I would have only CBD that was full spectrum and of high quality. I am so excited to have this workshop in THEO with only the best cannabis and CBD experts around.”

The event is free to the public and will be held at the future site of THEO Pet Grocery, 519 Bloomfield Ave, Montclair, NJ 07042. Event space is limited and registration is required by visiting cbddoghealth.com/events. The event will be broadcast via Facebook LIVE hosted on the following group page: facebook.com/groups/HolisticPetAdvice/?source_id=122089267836117.Virtual attendees are encouraged to join the Holistic Pet Advice Facebook page to post questions, which the experts will answer LIVE! The broadcast will begin promptly at 5 p.m.

At first it was just an idea: Animal supplements needed the same quality control that human-grade supplements receive. But that was enough to start a movement and an organization —the National Animal Supplement Council — that would be dedicated to establishing a comprehensive path forward for the animal supplements industry. In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
