Press Releases Caru Pet Food Updates Dog Stew Formulas Company plans to add heart-healthy taurine. Published 1 year ago on September 12, 2019 By PETS+ Staff Share Tweet (PRESS RELEASE) Caru Pet Food is updating its Classics and Daily Dish dog stews to keep up with recent developments in nutrition and ensure all of their recipes are of the highest quality. Caru’s Classics stews for dogs will now have a reduced amount of peas and potatoes, as well as an increased amount of meat, poultry or fish. Moreover, both Daily Dish and Classics stews will also include the amino acid taurine. Recently, the FDA has expressed concerns that certain dog foods with the main ingredients of peas, lentils and potatoes may lead to dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) related illnesses. While Caru’s diets do contain some of the ingredients specified by the FDA, they are not the main ingredients. That said, Caru has decided to slightly revise its dog formulas to include more high quality and traceable meat. With these new formulas, Caru is also adding taurine to all of its dog stews to help strengthen heart muscles and support healthy vascular function, which is found to be vulnerable in DCM. It has been shown that adding small amounts of this ingredient to dog food can attribute not only to a pet’s heart but also to their overall health, giving dogs the nutritionally complete diet they deserve. Taurine is not considered an essential amino acid for dogs, because it can be synthesized by using two other amino acids, methionine and cysteine, as precursors. Naturally occurring taurine, as well as methionine and cysteine, are found in large amounts in ingredients, such as fresh meat, which is the cornerstone of all Caru complete and balanced diets. “Pet parents are currently very nervous about the food they’re feeding their beloved best friends,” says Adrian Pettyan, co-founder and CEO of Caru Pet Food. “We wanted to put their minds at ease and ensure that all of the nutrition in our delicious stews will support their dog’s health for the long run. That’s why we made the decision to change up our recipes without changing the flavor that pets love!” Caru’s natural stews for pets feature 100 percent human grade ingredients for the same great look, taste, and smell of a homemade meal. These small changes to the dog stews are made to help dogs live a long, happy and healthy life. carupetfood.com Advertisement Related Topics:Caru Pet Fooddog foodLatest News Top click to Comment(Comment) Advertisement You may like Whippet ‘Bourbon’ Wins Best In Show at 20th AKC National Championship Open Farm Receives $65M in Private Equity Investment 2020 Holiday Sales Grew 8% Despite Pandemic, NRF Reports Promoted Headlines Let’s Hear it for the Comfort Zone Tall Tails Category Spotlight: Terry Naturally® Animal Health Category Spotlight: eTailPet Advertisement Latest Trending Videos Press Releases22 hours ago Two Companies from Bend Oregon Team Up for the 2021 Stage Stop Sled Dog Race Press Releases23 hours ago New Tiki Cat Grill Pate Wet Cat Food Features Real Fish & Seafood Recipes in Broth Press Releases23 hours ago Choice Pet Products Welcomes New Territory Manager to the Team Press Releases23 hours ago Canopy Animal Health Pet CBD Products Awarded NASC Quality Seal Press Releases23 hours ago New Docuseries Shows How Plant-Based Diet Benefits Dogs Headlines3 days ago Open Farm Receives $65M in Private Equity Investment Photo Gallery1 week ago How Indie Pet Stores Are Celebrating — and Selling — Valentine’s Day Press Releases1 week ago Lightspeed Launches Supplier Network for Independent Retailers Columns1 week ago Shelf Appeal: 5 Things to Consider When Choosing Products for Your Pet Store Hot Sellers1 week ago Holiday Toys, Bird Perches and Spa Treatments Among the Hot Sellers for November Trace's Store School1 month ago Video: Trace’s Store School: How to Build Community — and Grow Revenue — with Other Businesses Trace's Store School2 months ago Video: Trace’s Store School: Get Ready for Black Friday and Small-Business Saturday Trace's Store School2 months ago Video: Trace’s Store School Teaches You How to Start a Produce Co-Op for Pets Headlines3 months ago Video: Some Retailers Board Up Due to Election Unrest Fears Trace's Store School3 months ago Video: Trace’s Store School Covers Lessons Learned from COVID-19 Advertisement Advertisement SubscribeBULLETINS Get the most important newsand business ideas from PETS+.
