(PRESS RELEASE) WALNUT CREEK, CA —  Central Garden & Pet Company (NASDAQ:CENT), a leading innovator, producer and distributor of branded and private label products for the lawn and garden and pet supplies markets, announces the debut of its US partnership with CASCO Pet through a joint exhibition area at the American Pet Products Association Global Pet Expo in Orlando, Florida. CASCO Pet is the global leader in quality aquatic, reptile, small animal and pet bird retail merchandising solutions.

Through their partnership, Central Garden & Pet and CASCO Pet are unifying to become the singular solution provider for retailers across the aquatic, reptile, small animal and pet bird categories. Their combined retail expertise will offer fully-integrated solutions, incorporating a broad selection of live animals (Segrest/Sun Pet), featured award-winning retail fixtures (CASCO Pet), supported by top consumer brands (such as Aqueon, Zilla, and Kaytee). The result will be best-in-class “retail theater” merchandising and category management that elevates the in-store experience to drive category excitement and growth.

“We are delighted to partner with CASCO Pet. Their exceptional creative talent and technological innovation will provide us with synergies that will drive a paradigm shift in the pet industry. For the first time, customers will be able to work with one company through the entire supply chain to drive traffic to their stores,” said Rodolfo Spielmann, President, Pet Consumer Products, Central Garden & Pet.

“We are absolutely thrilled to be partnering with the Central family. We share many of the same values and our global reputations for innovation and animal welfare, combined with our talented teams, will provide our customers with an unparalleled product and service offering,” said Mathew Bubear, CEO of CASCO Pet. “When the news of their emboldened move to acquire the dynamic fish distributor Segrest broke in 2016, it proved beyond a doubt Central’s commitment to grow the retail pet industry.”

Central Garden & Pet and CASCO Pet will be available March 21-23 at the Global Pet Expo booth 4489 to discuss how their live system solutions can help drive category growth.

At first it was just an idea: Animal supplements needed the same quality control that human-grade supplements receive. But that was enough to start a movement and an organization —the National Animal Supplement Council — that would be dedicated to establishing a comprehensive path forward for the animal supplements industry. In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
