(press release) COS COB, CT – Chicken Soup for the Soul Pet Food, a leading super premium pet food company, recently donated 2,525 pounds of their nutritious kitten food to help feed rescue animals at A-PAL in Jackson, CA. The donation is part of the pet food company’s Fill A Bowl… Feed A Soul (FABFAS) program, a national campaign targeting the donation of one million meals to shelter pets annually.

“It’s kitten season and we were looking to work with an organization that had a significant kitten rescue program,” said Jeanne Blandford, Director of Marketing for Chicken Soup for the Soul Pet Food. “Our California sales rep, Kevin Reidenbach, pointed us towards Susan Manning, the owner of The Feed Barn in Jackson, CA and board president of the A-PAL Humane Society. A-PAL has a large kitten foster base, which is an essential part of their successful adoption program. As kittens are often too small to survive in a shelter, individual foster parents are able to feed and nurture them until a forever home is found. We are happy to support A-PAL and their fosters with complete and balanced food, helping to lift some of the financial burden so they can concentrate on helping these kittens grow into healthy adults.”

“Our goal is always to SAVE THEM ALL!” said Ms. Manning. Our kittens thrive on Chicken Soup for the Soul Kitten food and the love and attention they get from our fosters. With this donation we will be able to help more special needs cats and kittens. As our kittens transition to cats, we move them to Chicken Soup for the Soul Adult food. It is what we feed to all of our cats and kittens and it is what we recommend. We are so appreciative of this generous donation that allows us to save more little lives. We cannot thank Chicken Soup for the Soul Pet Food enough.”

“Chicken Soup for the Soul’s FABFAS program was created to help feed pets in need nationwide,” said Chris Mitchell. “We work closely with our independent pet specialty retailers to identify rescue  organizations in their area where our food can have a real impact. We believe that every pet should enjoy the benefits of premium nutrition. Healthy pets are happy pets and more readily adoptable,” said Mr. Mitchell.
