(PRESS RELEASE) BSM Partners, the companion animal product industry’s only full-service consulting firm, recently announced the merger of BSM Partners and R.M. Streeter Animal Nutrition to form BSM Clinical Nutrition. Renee Streeter, DVM, DACVN, will lead BSM Clinical Nutrition as Principal Clinical Nutritionist. In this capacity, Streeter will manage the firm’s PhD nutritionist team, define the firm’s nutritional standards, and collaborate with BSM Partners’ clients to create healthier companion animal products.

Streeter obtained her undergraduate degree in animal science from Cornell University and served as a farm animal nutritionist for a major feed company before attending veterinary school at Ross University. She spent her clinical year at Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, where she stayed on to do her clinical nutrition residency. There, she saw clinical nutrition cases and researched the relationship between omega-3 fatty acids, adipokines and canine obesity and treating selenium deficiency in horses. While working in general practice and clinical nutrition for the next six years, Streeter also founded her own veterinary nutrition consulting company.

“We’re extremely honored that Dr. Streeter is joining forces with BSM,” commented Nate Thomas, managing partner. “Her deep insights into animal health and nutrition will enable us to serve our valued clients at the highest level.” To learn more about BSM Partners, email info@bsmpartners.net.

NASC Media Spotlight

At first it was just an idea: Animal supplements needed the same quality control that human-grade supplements receive. But that was enough to start a movement and an organization —the National Animal Supplement Council — that would be dedicated to establishing a comprehensive path forward for the animal supplements industry. In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
