(PRESS RELEASE) On Sept. 29, the Foundation for Animal Care and Education (FACE) will hold its second Animaltarian Awards ceremony at an ocean-front estate in La Jolla, CA. Animal lovers will gather for an inspiring afternoon dedicated to our local animal heroes: La Jolla Veterinary Hospital, Loving Hands Veterinary Services, and local TV personality and SAN DIEGO HOME/GARDEN LIFESTYLES magazine pet columnist, KUSI’s Sandie Lampe. FACE will be honoring these individuals and groups for their professional and personal dedication to FACE’s mission of saving pets and helping families through their work in the San Diego community.

Registration for the event is available online at face4pets.org. General admission is $100 and VIP tickets are $300. VIPs will receive early admission, a private tour of one of the finest private collections of African and pre-Columbian art in California, and a tour of the estate’s exotic bird aviary.

Proceeds from this event benefit the FACE Foundation, a San Diego nonprofit that provides financial assistance for pets in need of life-saving veterinary care. To date, FACE has assisted more than 2,415 local pets in need. Those looking to make a tax-deductible donation can call (858) 450-3223 or email events@face4pets.org.

NASC Media Spotlight

At first it was just an idea: Animal supplements needed the same quality control that human-grade supplements receive. But that was enough to start a movement and an organization —the National Animal Supplement Council — that would be dedicated to establishing a comprehensive path forward for the animal supplements industry. In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
