(PRESS RELEASE) STAMFORD, CT – Global Pet Expo 2018 is just around the corner and Show officials report that the Show will be recognized at Trade Show Executive Magazine’s (TSE) Fastest 50 Awards & Summit set to take place June 13-15, 2018 at the Hyatt Regency Chicago.

Because of its continued growth, Global Pet Expo will be honored as a “Next 50” honoree in every category: Net Square Feet of Exhibit Space; by Exhibiting Companies; and by Total Attendance. And, Global Pet Expo continues as the pet industry’s largest annual trade show based on trade show industry standards. In fact, Global Pet Expo was also recognized by TSE as “The Greatest Show of 2014.”

“It is an honor to be recognized by Trade Show Executive. Our incredible team and loyal attendees and exhibitors have all played an integral role in making Global Pet Expo what it is today,” said American Pet Products Association (APPA) Executive Vice President & COO Andy Darmohraj. “This award further solidifies Global Pet Expo as THE premier industry event.”

APPA and Pet Industry Distributors Association (PIDA) will present the industry’s largest annual pet products trade show, Global Pet Expo, March 21-23, 2018, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL. As the first industry trade show of the year, the 2018 Show will feature more than 1,200 companies from around the world, showcasing the latest and greatest products available for all types of pets including dogs, cats, birds, fish, reptiles, small animals and horses. The Show boasts more than 343,000 net square feet of exhibit space with more new product launches (over 3,000) than can be found at any other event of its kind.

The 13th Annual Show took place in March 2017, and featured 6,761 qualified buyers, 1,130 exhibitors and 3,437 booths sold – making for record-setting numbers. Total Show attendance came at 16,646, with 343,700 net square feet of exhibit space which was 24,000 feet larger than the 2016 Show. On a truly global front, 27% of exhibitors were international, making up 305 of the 1,130 exhibitors and more than 25% of buyers were from outside of the U.S., coming from 79 countries.

Global Pet Expo is open to independent retailers, distributors, mass-market buyers, and other qualified professionals. This show is not open to the general public. For more information, please visit www.globalpetexpo.org.

At first it was just an idea: Animal supplements needed the same quality control that human-grade supplements receive. But that was enough to start a movement and an organization —the National Animal Supplement Council — that would be dedicated to establishing a comprehensive path forward for the animal supplements industry. In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
