(PRESS RELEASE) MINNEAPOLIS, MN – Gold Paw Series, a premium and eco-friendly dogwear company, announces that it will be donating a portion of their website sales each weekend throughout the summer to help support and rebuild small businesses impacted by the unrest in Minneapolis. Each weekend, the brand will be donating 10% of their sales to a different nonprofit. According to Rebecca Gadd, CEO of Gold Paw Series, “we’ve chosen different organizations that are dedicated not only to just rebuilding what was, but reimagining and building something new that is more just, more equitable, more healthy and kind.”
Their first weekend’s proceeds will be donated to the Lake Street Council fund, which is committed to rebuilding many of the minority-own small businesses on Lake Street that were impacted by the riots. A percentage of sales from the second weekend will go to Second Harvest Heartland to help distribute food to those in need. Additional organizations GoldPaw plans to support include Solid Ground, which is aimed at addressing homelessness, Greater Twin Cities United Way, Twin Cities Rebuild for the Future Fund, and The Sheridan Story to help provide food to children.
Gadd continues, “in light of all of the recent events and having just relocated our headquarters to Minneapolis, it was a no-brainer for us to give back to our community. We chose to donate to different organizations throughout the city since it’s our new home and also because it was the beginning of a nationwide call to action to come together and construct a better tomorrow for all.”
Since its inception, Gold Paw Series has been keen on giving back and reducing the impact of their products on the planet. As their second year as 1% for the Planet members, they’ve focused on reforestation efforts by partnering with the Eden Reforestation Project. Since 2004, they have been reducing extreme poverty and restoring healthy forests by employing local villagers to plant millions of trees every year. GoldPaw set a goal of planting one million trees by January 2022. They’ve planted over 374,500 so far.
