WHO: Hosted by the Human Animal Bond Research Institute (HABRI), and sponsored by IDEXX, the first in a series of virtual human-animal bond lectures will feature an in-depth conversation about groundbreaking research supporting service dogs as a complementary, therapeutic treatment for veterans with post-traumatic stress and their families. The lecture features:
Marguerite E. O’Haire, PhD, Associate Professor, Center for the Human-Animal Bond, Purdue University, discussing her published study, Preliminary efficacy of service dogs as a complementary treatment for posttraumatic stress disorder in military members and veterans, and her ongoing research on the impacts of a service dog as a complementary treatment for veterans with PTSD.
WHAT: The IDEXX Human-Animal Bond Lecture Series highlights pivotal research on the health benefits of the human-animal bond and the importance of veterinary medicine in strengthening human-animal bonds. Registration is free.
