(PRESS RELEASE) WASHINGTON, PA — Icelandic+, the premium pet treat brand known for sourcing natural, protein-packed treats from Iceland’s pristine environment and beyond, announced the launch of Soft & Chewy Bites, the company’s first soft textured treat line for both dogs and cats. The new product line introduces seven skus across both species, marking a significant expansion into the soft treat category in response to customer demand.

The Soft & Chewy Bites line features high protein formulation with 70% fresh real meat combined with whole fresh fruit and organic Icelandic kelp harvested from the clean coastal waters of Iceland. Available in both dog (2.82 oz, $9.99) and cat (1.82 oz, $5.99) sizes, the treats are designed for everyday treating, training and pets with sensitive teeth.

“We’re thrilled to introduce Soft & Chewy Bites into our line of treats and chews,” said Kersti Lee, VP of Brand Development at Icelandic+. “Our customers have been asking for a softer treat option that maintains the premium quality and limited ingredient philosophy they’ve come to expect from Icelandic+. These treats deliver on that promise while expanding our protein offerings to include lamb, beef, trout and others.”

The launch introduces four dog recipes including Beef, Plum and Kelp; Lamb, Blackberry and Kelp; Salmon, Cranberry and Kelp; and Chicken, Blackberry and Kelp, along with three cat recipes featuring Trout, Raspberry and Kelp; Salmon, Cranberry and Kelp; and Chicken, Blackberry and Kelp. Each recipe is thoughtfully made with limited ingredients and contains no artificial fillers, preservatives, grains or wheat. All products are air dried in small batches to preserve quality and freshness.

The soft, chewy texture addresses multiple needs within the pet treat market. The bites are ideal for training sessions due to their highly palatable nature and enticing aroma, while also serving pets with dental sensitivities who may struggle with harder treat options. At just 4 calories per treat, they provide a guilt-free reward option for pet parents.

“Icelandic+ has built a reputation on delivering exceptional quality with simple, clean ingredients,” said Kersti. “Soft & Chewy Bites represent the natural evolution of our brand, expanding our texture offerings while maintaining our unwavering commitment to premium ingredients and the health benefits our customers trust. The addition of organic Icelandic kelp in every flavor continues our tradition of incorporating nutrient-rich ingredients from Iceland’s pristine environment.”

NASC Media Spotlight

At first it was just an idea: Animal supplements needed the same quality control that human-grade supplements receive. But that was enough to start a movement and an organization —the National Animal Supplement Council — that would be dedicated to establishing a comprehensive path forward for the animal supplements industry. In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
