(press release) ANAHEIM, CA — iHeartDogs.com, a profit-for-purpose pet goods manufacturer and e-commerce retailer, has raised over $200,000 in funds to help pair companion animals with military veterans through its Pets & Vets program.

Army veteran and Chief Operating Officer Marshall Morris partnered with iHeartDogs CEO Justin Palmer to evolve iHeartDogs from a Facebook group page in 2014 into a major retailer for pets and pet lovers today. Coming from a military background, Morris combined his dedication to his fellow veterans with Palmer’s passion of supporting shelter animals into a company that would serve both.

“When I transitioned out of the military I saw a great number of soldiers face another battle off the battlefield as they entered back into civilian life,” says Morris. “While these injuries aren’t visible to the naked eye, PTSD takes a severe toll on those experiencing it as well as their loved ones who live with them. To help combat this, we created our Pets & Vets program.”

As many as 20 percent of returning veterans suffer from post traumatic stress disorder. Through a partnership with GreaterGood, iHeartDogs is able to provide funding through each purchase of their Pets & Vets collection to organizations that pair service dogs and companion animals with veterans.

“The story behind our Pets & Vets program started with a simple question: How can we serve those who’ve served us?” says Morris. “The impact these animals have on the lives of our vets is undeniable and life changing. When you pair a veteran with a companion animal, miracles happen.”

Some items from the collection include desert camo paracord bracelets, matching adjustable camo paracord dog collars, rings, watches, shirts, leashes, and more. While these items have been available exclusively online, iHeartDogs is now offering the collection to select retailers. To shop the collection and learn more about Pets & Vets, click here
