(press release) MECHANICSBURG, PA – Intergroom, which took place in April at the Meadowlands Expo Center in Secaucus, NJ, continued the Barkleigh trend of double-digit growth for 2018. This year’s show attracted 2,841 groomers for a 14.9 percent attendance increase over last year, making it the third-largest grooming show in the world behind Barkleigh Production’s Groom Expo and Groom Expo West. The show also featured over 100 vendor booths.

One highlight of the show was the honoring of Christine DeFilippo, the creator and previous owner of Intergroom, at the popular lip sync contest that she created. It was a heartfelt goodbye amid the transition of ownership of Intergroom from DeFilippo to World Dog Entertainment.

This year’s GroomTeam USA Sanction winners are Jackie Boulton, Joshua Morales and Angela Menard. Lindsey Dicken won Best In Show and American Best All Around at Intergroom. Nadia Bongelli took home the International Best All Around award and Cindy Oliver dominated the Creative Grooming Competition, taking home the first-place trophy.

Groom Expo West, which took place in Pasadena, CA, at the Pasadena Convention Center in February, had an attendance increase of 10.3 percent over last year with 4,707 total attendees, making it the second-largest grooming show in the world next to Barkleigh Production’s Groom Expo in Hershey, PA. The Northwest Grooming Show that took place in Tacoma, WA, in April at the Hotel Murano followed in the same footsteps with a 10.5 percent attendance increase with 1,188 groomers attending.
