Betsey Qualley recently celebrated the 10-year anniversary of her cat-grooming salon, Smitten Kitten. Cheering her on at work are shop cats Walter, Lola and Delores, all from Furry Friends Rescue. At home are kitties Dorothy (posing with Qualley here), Pickles, Rosie, Orangie and Shelley, plus husband George and daughter Charlotte. Surrounding herself with such a large family helps keep Qualley happy and successful.

In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
