Manufacturer Buys Pet Treats Facility

The facility can also produce vitamins and supplements.

SENECA, KS — Seneca, KS-based J-Six Enterprises, a company focused on livestock and grain production, milling and blending services, has announced the acquisition of the Perrigo Animal Health facility located in Kansas City, KS.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

 

The facility features a variety of pet treat manufacturing capabilities across several forms, such as soft and chewy treats, extruded dental chews and long-lasting chews, according to a press release. Also included is a tablet production line used to produce pet supplements and vitamins.

The facility has eight packaging lines and the ability to package its products in a variety of formats. It includes x-ray metal detection and nitrogen flush capability.

Troy Kramer, co-owner of J-Six Enterprises, said in the release: “We’re excited to enter the treat and tablet co-manufacturing business and look forward to introducing private label and custom manufacturing services to the pet trade. The current food safety and production teams will remain employed at the facility and plans are in place to expand the team in 2017. Our company focuses on food safety and the facility has earned a SQF (Safe Quality Foods) certification in accordance with the Global Food Safety Initiative which dovetails nicely with our comprehensive quality and food safety programs.”
