(PRESS RELEASE) NEW YORK — Mars Petcare, the global leader in pet health and nutrition, announced the launch of Kinship, a first-of-its-kind coalition dedicated to creating the future of pet care. Kinship will build new businesses in partnership with a diverse array of pet start-ups and industry collaborators and will provide unique access to data, science and industry expertise to realize the transformational promise in the areas of healthcare, nutrition and science.

Kinship will focus on transformational opportunities, including:

  • Healthcare: As the demand for new and innovative care and treatment options for pets continues to grow, Kinship and its partners will look for new ways for science and technology to provide pet owners with care options that may more accessible, effective and personalized to fit the unique needs of their pets.
  • Nutrition: Given the unique relationship between diet and health and the emerging opportunities for individualized nutrition solutions, Kinship will work together with partners to find new ways to support pet health through nutrition.
    Science: For years, pet health conditions have gone undetected when better data and diagnostics solutions may have predicted or possibly prevented them. By applying new discoveries across many scientific fields ranging from microbiome biology to machine learning, the Kinship coalition of partners will work with experts to uncover ways to help change pet care through science.

(PRESS RELEASE) PetGuard, a producer of pet food and products for 40 years, recently announced that Tim Siedlaczek has been hired to head the company’s national sales force. In his new role as director of sales, Siedlaczek will be responsible for building even stronger relationships with PetGuard distributors and retail partners, as well as guiding and inspiring his associates to take PetGuard sales to new heights.

Siedlaczek most recently served as senior director of sales for Spectrum Brands, where he was instrumental in expanding the size and scope of the pet, home and garden business unit for seventeen years. Prior to that, he held the position of national accounts manager at H.J. Heinz and managed a number of teams selling branded products to pet specialty distributors and retailers, as well as through the food, drug and mass channels.

Bow Wow Dog Houses Offer Chew-Free Entrances

(PRESS RELEASE) Los Angeles-based Bow Wow Dog Houses, a leader in eco-friendly dog house manufacturing, has teamed with Southern California-based company, The Pro Design Group. The companies have announced an alternative choice to the metal flashing typically selected as an option for door openings on Bow Wow Dog Houses’ homes.

The new material used for the doghouse entrance is an extruded ABS molding that will cap the framing trim around the door. ABS is an opaque thermoplastic and amorphous polymer. The ABS molding was designed in a joint creative project with The Pro Design Group’s Jake La Dow and the Bow Wow Dog House team. In working together, they created a product that provides a barrier in the door opening frame that is both durable and matches well with the aesthetic values for which Bow Wow Dog Houses is known.

“PDG has established a stellar reputation as a business-to-business leader of commercial manufacturing for its fabrication of thermoformed goods.” said Larry Hobbs, president and CEO of Bow Wow Dog Houses. “Since the front door entrance of a dog house is a common area for dogs to chew — especially puppies — we were motivated to come up with an alternative to metal flashing. We couldn’t be happier with the outstanding results of this collaborative effort.”
