(PRESS RELEASE) Nature Gnaws, a Florida-based all-natural dog chew brand, has released a blog and Youtube video explaining the five-step process that ensures its products are safe for dogs. Most pet owners may not fully understand the additional precautions taken to ensure products are free from bacteria, and Nature Gnaws co-founder Steve Mamak created a simple list to give customers even more peace of mind.
Mamak and his team want to deliver on their promise that all Nature Gnaws chews are made with single or limited ingredients, cleaned with water and baked in commercial ovens. In addition to their process of creating only the best, all-natural chews, Nature Gnaws sticks to a five-step precautionary process, adding a level of assurance customers can take comfort in.
Step 1: Supply Chain – Nature Gnaws controls the entire supply chain and knows where our products come from, how they are cleaned, baked and shipped. The company calls this process “Farm to Fur Baby,” and it sets them apart from any other dog chew company in the industry.
Step 2: Irradiation – All products are irradiated to ensure our chews are free of any bacterial contamination, including salmonella and e-coli. The FDA approved process has been used for over 30 years and are not required in the industry, but Nature Gnaws believes it is necessary to keep all products safe.
Step 3: Lab Testing – After products are irradiated, they are sent to Midwest Laboratories, which provides Nature Gnaws state-of-the-art microbiological tests. The tests provide an extra level of protection, ensuring all products are free from salmonella, e-coli and other bacterial contaminations.
Step 4: Hand Packaged/Hand Inspected – Every single chew is hand inspected and packaged. The Nature Gnaws team reviews the size and shape of every chew to maintain consistency. Chews that do not meet our size specifications get donated to local rescue societies under their Gnaw it Forward program.

Step 5: Cleaning and UV Machines – At the end of each work day, Nature Gnaws cleans its packing tables with vinegar to maintain a sterile work environment. They also employ the use of UV light emitting machines for disinfecting 99.9 percent of all germs. This is a process often used in hospitals, and the technology is a safe way to disinfect.
“We started this company with the intention of providing transparent products and processes” says Mamak. “Every consumer deserves to know what they are giving their pets.”
