Chewy.com might open a facility in Louisville, KY, that would bring 300 jobs to the area, Insider Louisville reports.
The project would cost $7.2 million, including rent, equipment, and building outfitting.
The e-commerce pet retailer has received preliminary approval for as much as $1.25 million in tax breaks if the project goes through, according to Insider Louisville.
It hasn't been made clear exactly what type of facility is being considered, but it's likely a distribution center, Insider Louisville reports. The jobs that it creates would pay an average of $39 per hour.
Chewy, based in Dania Beach, FL, was acquired last year by PetSmart for an undisclosed sum. It operates largely as an independent subsidiary.
