(PRESS RELEASE) SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Pawscout, a leader in the digitally-connected pet space, announced an expansion of its award-winning product line with a new low-cost quick response (QR) code pet tag to make protecting and caring for pets more affordable and accessible than ever before.
Following the launch of its original Pawscout tag in 2017, Pawscout took the technology and created this new version that still offers a number of the same benefits, but at a lower price point, making it accessible to more pet owners worldwide.
PawscoutQR was created to address one of the greatest pet parent fears: losing a pet. Approximately one third of all pets go missing in their lifetime, and the majority are never reunited with their family. Pawscout is working to lower this statistic with their combination of technology and expansive community of pet parents.
“Prior to the launch of Pawscout products, pet tags have stayed mostly the same for the last 200 years,” said Aaron Lamstein, co-founder of Pawscout. “We see a huge opportunity to bring innovative benefits at an affordable price point so virtually every retailer and pet parent can join the digital pet safety and care revolution.”
Each PawscoutQR tag, which has a $9.99 suggested retail price, has a unique code and with a simple scan using any smartphone can access critical owner and medical information to help reunite furry friends with their pet parents. The tag connects to Pawscout’s free mobile app, and in addition to providing safety, makes pet care easier with a variety of features such as walk tracking, medical records, and a pet social network to connect with other pet parents in the community.
“PawscoutQR builds on our rapidly expanding communities of pet parents across North America,” said Lamstein. “It gives retailers a new avenue for incremental sales in this important category, meeting the demand of what pet-parents want for peace of mind.”
