Pet Advocacy Network Welcomes Lauren Calmet and Alisa Clements to Leadership

Calmet joins as director of government affairs, Clements named deputy director of outreach and advocacy.

(PRESS RELEASE) ALEXANDRIA, VA — The Pet Advocacy Network (PAN) announced two new members of its team, naming Lauren Calmet the Director of Government Affairs and Alisa Clements the Deputy Director of Outreach and Advocacy.

“Lauren and Alisa both bring a wealth of experience in issue advocacy, grassroots campaigns, and legislative affairs,” said Mike Bober, president and CEO of PAN. “We are thrilled to bring these talented experts on board to help us reach our ambitious policy and engagement goals on behalf of the pet care community in the coming years.”

Calmet most recently worked in the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ Office of Congressional and Legislative Affairs. Previously, she served as a Senior Advisor to Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy, Political Director at the American Institute of Architects, and Director of Community Affairs at the Florida Coalition for Children. She is the proud sister of a pet business entrepreneur. She is Peruvian-American and a graduate of Florida State University. Lauren lives in Washington, D.C., and adores her chihuahua, Bean.

Clements an accomplished advocacy and government relations leader, with over 15 years of experience working for campaigns and nonprofits. In her most recent role, she served as the Deputy Organizing Director for NextGen America in her home state of Pennsylvania. She lives in Washington, D.C. with her chihuahuas Bandit and Loki.

“I look forward to applying my government relations expertise to advance pet care policies and my organizing skills to grow our new Network of Advocates outreach program,” said Clements.

“I’m so excited to join the Pet Advocacy Network and work on issues that make a difference for pets, their owners, and the businesses that support them,” added Calmet. “As a pet owner, I understand the importance of the human-animal bond, and that’s why I’m passionate about this work.”
