(PRESS RELEASE) BOULDER, CO — The Pet Sustainability Coalition (PSC) has been awarded a $75,000 grant from the WPA Good Works program. This funding will enable PSC to drive new sustainability initiatives in the pet industry, such as advancing eco-friendly packaging, promoting responsible ingredient sourcing, and educating businesses on measurable environmental strategies.
PSC started 11 years ago and now has over 200 members in 18 countries. The organization is dedicated to creating profitable and measurable changes that benefit people, pets, and the planet. The WPA Good Works program, which has donated more than $15 million in the last 15 years and nearly $2 million annually, is a vital partner in furthering this shared vision.
How the Grant Will Be Used
The grant will support:
- Data & Research: Creating the 2025 “Sustainability in the Pet Industry Report,” which will provide data on consumer trends, retailer behavior, and key sustainability issues.
- Education: Organizing webinars and cohort sessions on topics like greenhouse gas reporting, sustainable packaging and ingredients, and anti-greenwashing.
- Toolkit and Resources: Expanding PSC’s free toolkit, which offers resources like anti-greenwashing guidelines, the HowGood ingredient database, and the packaging legislation tracker.

PSC’s programs, such as accreditation, consulting, tools, and case studies, are designed to make sustainability achievable and profitable for the pet industry. This grant will expand those efforts and help more companies take steps toward environmental responsibility.
