(PRESS RELEASE) PITTSBURGH, PA — Petagogy, known for its top-quality pet supplies and knowledgeable staff, announced it is officially welcoming Healthy Pet Products into the Petagogy family. With over 15 years of serving Pittsburgh and its surrounding communities, Healthy Pet Products has long been a go-to for pet health and nutrition, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to bring their strong tradition of pet health and nutrition to Petagogy.
As Petagogy and Healthy Pet Products join forces, we’re keeping the same customer-first approach and high standards that both teams are known for. By working together, we’re expanding our mission to provide the best natural pet foods, wellness products, and expert support for pets and their families.

For now, Healthy Pet Products will continue using its familiar name to make the transition easy for everyone. Customers can now enjoy shopping at FIVE convenient locations, including stores in Cranberry Township, McCandless in the North Hills, McMurray in the South Hills, and of course our two current locations in Pittsburgh (East Liberty) and Greensburg.

About Petagogy
The original Petagogy location opened in Shadyside in 2011 by owners Heather Blum, Cole Wolfson, Elsie Lampl and Ben Huber. The concept for the store came from our desire for Pittsburgh-area pet owners to have access to an independent store in their community that has a knowledgeable staff and a wide selection of safe, natural and unique pet foods, treats and supplies for dogs and cats. In October 2014, Petagogy expanded the Shadyside retail space from 600 sq. ft. to 1,800 sq. ft. In 2016, we brought in our manager Allison Stetz as a fifth partner and opened our second location in Greensburg. In September, the original Petagogy store moved from its original location on Ellsworth Avenue to a brand new space on Penn Avenue in East Liberty.

About Healthy Pet Products
While owner Toni Shelaske was running her own pet-sitting business, she became concerned about the growing health issues in clients’ pets—like allergies, itchy skin, and autoimmune disorders. Her research pointed to food and environment as key factors. In 2008, Toni purchased a local store focused on natural pet foods to spread the word about the importance of quality nutrition. Today, Healthy Pet Products has three locations in Pittsburgh, PA, and one in Port Charlotte, FL. Shelaske and her staff are passionate about helping people understand how premium foods, raw diets, and supplements can greatly improve their pets’ health—and theirs, too.
