(PRESS RELEASE) CHILLIWACK, BC — Petcurean, the award-winning manufacturer of premium pet food brands GO! SOLUTIONS NOW FRESH, and SUMMIT, revealed the launch of University of Petcurean (UofP), a new Learning Management System (LMS), which serves as a helpful tool to educate retailers on products, providing them with additional resources to support their consumers. The announcement was made in tandem with the soft launch of several new recipes, including GO! SOLUTIONS SENSITIVITIES Limited Ingredient Grain-Free Insect Recipe for Dogs, GO! SOLUTIONS SKIN + COAT CARE Large Breed Puppy + Adult Salmon Recipes with Grains for Dogs, as well as the relaunch of Petcurean’s SUMMIT brand. Petcurean will showcase its new products and provide retailers with a test-and-learn of its LMS at Global Pet Expo (GPE), taking place March 22-24, 2023 in Orlando, Florida.

The UofP platform is easily accessible by computer or mobile device to deliver a seamless and flexible product training experience. Additionally, the UofP platform allows for a more comprehensive approach to educating retailers about product formulations and nutritional benefits, helping store staff recommend recipes appropriately to pet parents throughout North America.

“We are thrilled to launch our new University of Petcurean online platform to support our retail partners with access to in-depth product knowledge so they can help pet parents choose the best recipes for their dogs’ and cats’ needs,” said Anabel Immega, marketing manager, North America of Petcurean. “For example, retailers can easily access information to help them recommend ideal recipes for sensitive pets or those with specific life stage and breed size needs, such as our new GO! SOLUTIONS SENSITIVITIES Limited Ingredient Grain-Free Insect Recipe for Dogs and our GO! SOLUTIONS SKIN + COAT CARE Large Breed Puppy + Adult Salmon Recipes with Grains for Dogs.”

In addition to the reveal of UofP, Petcurean is also showcasing new recipes at GPE, including:

  • GO! SOLUTIONS SENSITIVITIES Limited Ingredient Grain-Free Insect Recipe for Dogs – this recipe is designed for pets with food allergies or sensitivities, and provides a sustainable choice for environmentally-conscious consumers. Insect-based proteins have less impact on the environment as they require significantly less land and water resources, yielding a smaller carbon footprint than livestock such as chicken or beef. Additionally, this recipe uses the same base ingredients as Petcurean’s other SENSITIVITIES recipes for dogs, so can be fed in rotation with no transition time.
  • GO! SOLUTIONS SKIN + COAT CARE Large Breed Puppy + Adult Salmon Recipes with Grains for Dogs – these recipes are tailored to life stage and breed size in response to growing consumer demand for customized pet food options. Featuring salmon as the single-source animal protein, targeted mineral ratios to support strong bones, and large kibble for big mouths, these recipes are formulated to meet the specific needs of large breed dogs at each key life stage.SUMMIT – these Petcurean recipes for dogs and cats are returning to the Canadian market with a new look and feel, and also making their debut in the US. SUMMIT recipes have been updated to elevate the palatability, nutrition, and affordability of the SUMMIT product line. Inspired by local farms and ranches, Petcurean’s nutritionists sourced premium-quality animal proteins, fruits, vegetables and grains to create recipes all pets can enjoy.

“At Petcurean, we know that no two pets are identical – this is what inspires us to continually innovate and introduce new recipes to meet the evolving needs of pets and pet parents alike,” added Immega. “With the University of Petcurean platform, we’re now able to share new product resources and knowledge much more effectively with our retail partners, helping them add value to their consumers’ in-store shopping experience with expert product recommendations.”

Petcurean invites GPE attendees to visit Booth 814 to learn more about their new products and to gain valuable insights into pet nutrition from Petcurean’s Natalie Asaro, MSc, Nutrition Manager, and Theresa Lantz, MSc, Companion Animal Nutritionist. Asaro will be hosting a seminar on Feeding large Breed Dogs (March 22, 3:00 p.m.) and Lantz will be discussing Feeding Alternative Proteins at a second seminar (March 23, 11:00 a.m.). NASC Media Spotlight

At first it was just an idea: Animal supplements needed the same quality control that human-grade supplements receive. But that was enough to start a movement and an organization —the National Animal Supplement Council — that would be dedicated to establishing a comprehensive path forward for the animal supplements industry. In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
