(Press Release) MONTCLAIR, NJ – Pets+ magazine, SmartWork Media’s newest retail trade management publication, has added two new staff members. Pamela Mitchell joins the company as senior editor and Ariyana Edmond joins as West Coast sales manager. The announcement was made by Pets+ publisher Craig Rexford.
Mitchell, formerly senior editor of Dogster.com, has contributed to Pets+ since its January 2017 launch. A graduate of Central Connecticut State University, Mitchell started her journalism career as an entertainment reporter at the Hartford Courant. She also worked as the online features editor at the Houston Chronicle and online managing editor at Village Voice Media. Mitchell lives in Houston with her 13-year old Boston Terrier, Spot.
Edmond, who manages west coast sales for Pets+, was West Coast sales manager of Pet Age magazine.

She most recently served as account director of IZEA, an influencer marketing and custom content service provider. A resident of Culver City, CA, she graduated from the State University of New York-Brockport.

Pets+, which focuses on ways to help retail pet store owners and pet service providers to do business better, debuted with its January-February 2017 issue. Originally published six times a year, the magazine will increase to a 10X publication schedule in 2018.
Earlier this month, Pets+ took top honors in Folio: Magazine’s Eddie & Ozzie awards for best online newsletter in the business-to-business-retail category, and garnered two honorable mentions for magazine design and best issue overall. SmartWork Media’s magazines and websites have earned 111 awards since 2004, making the company one of the most highly decorated publishing companies, per title, in the world.
