Services

  • Dremel nails. Types of customers are older who have blood thinning issues or young children who could be injured by a paw. Patricia Hall, Arfy Waggers Mobile Pet Grooming, Sanford, FL
  • Our microbubble add-on treatment has more than tripled this summer. Clients love how their dog’s problematic skin conditions are clearing up without medicine and steroid injections, after only two or three microbubble treatments. Danielle Wilson, Bath & Biscuits, Granville, OH
  • Add-on boarding playtimes. Customers want their pets to enjoy all kinds of activities while they are away. We love to sell activities because the more energy our guests expel or the more individual one-on-one attention they get while in our care, the healthier and happier they are. Trish Elliott, Town & Country Pet Resort, Valley Springs, CA
  • Lion cuts for cats. I never discount this service, and it grows in popularity every year. Frank Deangelo, D-Angel Pet Service, West Islip, NY
  • Our best-selling service is nosework classes. We promote our classes by Constant Contact and Facebook. Fran Masters, Masterpeace Dog Training, Franklin, MA
  • We are primarily cat boarding, and July is our busiest month of the year. We have a Frequent Camper program where customers can earn a free day of boarding. They are always delighted when they reach their free day. Myra Tsung, Camp Kitty, Decatur, GA
  • My best-selling service was Trail Runs. Luke Sirois, Adventure Dog Training, Pawtucket, RI
  • Our July special was grooming add-ons. We promoted spa packages, teeth brushing, blueberry facials. Our clients loved it. Those who were not aware of these options were excited and said they would not do another grooming without the upgrade. Julie Grounds, Central Pet, Tucson, AZ

Dog Products

  • Polka dot harnesses from Doggie Design. They retail for $19.99, and people are loving them! Tom Jeffrey, Dinky Dog Club, Charleston, SC
  • Bubba Rose birthday cakes. We appear to be the go-to place for celebrations. We like to sell them because it’s heartwarming to see how many people want to celebrate a birthday or “gotcha” day. Carmen Alcalde, Bad Dog Frida, Madison, WI
  • Merrick treats were a big seller. We offered each bag of treats for $2 and sold over 1,000 treats in six weeks. Stella & Chewy’s line of freeze-dried had $5-off coupons for in-store purchases of the 25-ounce size, and we sold 85 units in a month. Frank Frattini, The Hungry Puppy, Farmingdale, NJ
  • We sold a lot of ice cream during July! We kept the cups of the Yoghund frozen yogurt in the freezer and the Pupcake ice cream mix near the cake. This gave customers the option to give their dog ice cream on the spot, or to be able to take ice cream home for later. To promote the products, we had several ice cream social events throughout the area. Jamie Judson, City Bark, Detroit, MI
  • With the Fourth of July and lots of traveling, July tends to be a stressful month for pets so July’s best seller was calming products including CBD treats and oils. We sold out of Super Snouts CBD oils and Lazarus Naturals Oils twice. Terri Ellen, Nature’s Pet Market, Salem, OR
  • The Zignature Dog Food line is our fastest growing current brand. While we personally are not anti chicken and have a different understanding than most vets for why it shows up in allergy tests, we have enough customers who are concerned about it that it’s been beneficial to have a full line of food that gives them multiple chicken-free options while allowing us to continue to encourage rotation and adding moisture. Maggie Victory, The Whole Pet, Fort Smith, AR
  • Lots of no-pull harnesses. This time of year everyone walks their dogs and wants it to be easier. We sell primarily Kurgo Journey and Balance. Dani Edgerton, Paws on Main, Columbiana, OH
  • Custom collars by Up Country with a design of the St. Louis flag. Carol Will, Lola & Penelope’s, Clayton, MO
  • Our hottest seller was the Pet Releaf 700 CBD Oil. We are selling to many of our visitors who are traveling with their dogs and have found that it has relieved a lot of their dog’s anxiety caused by traveling. Wendy Megyese, Muttigans, Emerald Isle, NC

Bird Products

  • ABBA Products 1500 Parrot Food. If people buy a competitor’s brand of seed , we’ll give them a pound or so to try. Paul Lewis, Bird Unlimited, Webster, NY
