The upcoming PETS+ Wellness Summit has adjusted its dates and location after considering feedback from registrants and exhibitors.

The Summit will now take place Oct. 1-2 at the Loews Chicago O’Hare Hotel in Rosemont, IL, less than five minutes away from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport.

The original schedule had the event starting one day earlier at the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center Hotel in Schaumburg, IL.

The streamlined schedule better allows attendees to mix education with wholesale shopping for products, while reducing the amount of time they need to spend away from their businesses.

Meanwhile, the new venue allows easier access for visitors flying in for the Summit (including free shuttle buses from the airport), and is noted to be friendlier to those traveling with pets.

In a message explaining the changes, PETS+ Editor-in-Chief Ralf Kircher wrote, “We’re thrilled that [PETS+ readers] are as excited about the Summit as we are, and we’re glad that, among other constructive comments, it was suggested our original schedule might be too long to be away from your business. As a result of the feedback, we have tweaked the event in ways we believe will make it even more useful to you.”

What has not changed is the value of the education sessions, covering CBD, raw food, raw alternatives, supplements, healthy play, aging and partnering with local vets.

NASC Media Spotlight

At first it was just an idea: Animal supplements needed the same quality control that human-grade supplements receive. But that was enough to start a movement and an organization —the National Animal Supplement Council — that would be dedicated to establishing a comprehensive path forward for the animal supplements industry. In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
