(PRESS RELEASE) ROCKWALL, TX – Primetime Petz has hired Mel Abernathy as vice president of sales as the company expands its product offerings and extends into new markets.

“I couldn’t be more excited to join the exceptional blend of talent we’re so fortunate to have here at Primetime Petz, which marked its 10-year anniversary last month at SuperZoo,” Abernathy said. “It’s an honor having the opportunity to lead the sales effort for a company that built its reputation on delivering innovative, high-quality pet product solutions. I’m anxious to leverage and grow the Hauspanther brand of décor-friendly cat products and help guide expansion into other product categories.”

Abernathy has wide-ranging expertise in domestic and international sales, licensing, strategic planning, product development and sourcing.

He has led sales for both high-growth and established brands with a focus in housewares and pet products.

“Mel’s energy and enthusiasm are a perfect fit for our growing team,” said Brian Bouldin, CEO of Primetime Petz. “His strategic approach to sales will help us expand into new markets, taking the company to the next level.”

At first it was just an idea: Animal supplements needed the same quality control that human-grade supplements receive. But that was enough to start a movement and an organization —the National Animal Supplement Council — that would be dedicated to establishing a comprehensive path forward for the animal supplements industry. In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
