(PRESS RELEASE) The Pet Sustainability Coalition (PSC) announces more growth for 2020. Two new board members have joined the Coalition under elevated leadership from Stephanie Volo, CMO of Earth Animal, the board’s newly elected chair. “I am honored and proud to follow on the heels of the amazing leadership of PSC since it began in 2013. I am thankful that I have been a part of It since the beginning and look forward to continuing to drive the momentum around the sustainability movement in our industry. Together, we will further our industry growth and impact and offer leadership for our membership as we navigate the ever-changing sustainability landscape,” says Volo.

Adding to PSC’s diverse and robust advisory team is Chantal Saelen, managing director of Belgium-based Moderna, a renowned manufacturer of plastic products for pets. Chantal Saelen brings the first European-based leadership to PSC’s advisory team, setting the organization up to broaden membership and impact in Europe. Moderna is a 3rd generation family owned business with strong environmental and ethical practices. Moderna opened a second production facility in Gaffney, South Carolina in 2015.

“I am excited to join the PSC leadership community,” says Saelen. “My goal is to help guide the global pet industry in becoming a leading example of sustainable business operations.”

Also joining the PSC Advisory Board is AdreAnne Tesene, owner of Two Bostons, a multi-location pet product retailer in Illinois, USA. Skilled in pet nutrition, sales, retail and leadership coaching, Tesene is an entrepreneur and active participant in a variety of pet industry organizations. “I’m honored and excited to become a part of the Pet Sustainability Coalition Board. Amazing work has already been accomplished by this group and I look forward to helping the pet industry grow by creating more sustainable practices at the retail store level,” said Tesene.

PSC also added a third new staff position in 2020, welcoming Marketing Manager Andy Gale. Most recently director of sales and marketing for a pet business software company, Gale has experience in sales and operations in a variety of sustainability-oriented industries, and an MBA in Sustainable Business. “Purpose and mission is what is most important to me in business,” says Gale. “The pet industry is thriving and provides a compelling opportunity to have a big impact in business sustainability. My goal is to help increase membership and the widespread engagement of sustainable business practices.”
