(PRESS RELEASE) BOULDER, CO — The Pet Sustainability Coalition (PSC), known for its inspiring events, growing membership base of more than 140 companies, and retailer-facing accreditation program, is trying something new this spring. The organization will be hosting the largest industry-specific Earth Day event in an effort to unite the industry and underscore the incredible momentum PSC is seeing in sustainable business growth throughout the pet industry.

Amidst this time of social distancing and isolation, it is clear how closely connected we all are on this globe and how important it is to highlight points of optimism and progress. As an intentional departure from its ongoing educational webinars, PSC’s 50th Earth Day event is truly a celebration. Offering coveted prizes and auction items from sustainable brands like Ben & Jerry’s, Badger Balm, Allbirds, and Earth Hero, there’s something for everyone at this event. And if there’s one community of leaders that know how to party with a purpose– it’s those leading the pet industry.

The giveaways and trivia will be fun opportunities for crowd participation and for the first time, PSC will bring sustainability data to the forefront to illustrate how its members have changed the course of business for the better. Attendees will see some of the pioneers of the sustainable business movement in the pet industry but also fresh voices from PSC’s newest member companies like Earth Rated and All the Best Pet Care.

This event is open to all pet industry professionals. To register visit www.petsustainability.org/webinars

NASC Media Spotlight

At first it was just an idea: Animal supplements needed the same quality control that human-grade supplements receive. But that was enough to start a movement and an organization —the National Animal Supplement Council — that would be dedicated to establishing a comprehensive path forward for the animal supplements industry. In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
