(PRESS RELEASE) On July 15, Pure Treats Inc. will introduce two new treats, one for cats, one for dogs:

  • PureBites Duck Jerky for dogs, made with only two ingredients, 100 percent Canadian-sourced and -made, human-grade duck, and preserved with mixed tocopherols.
  • PureBites Freeze Dried Ocean Medley for cats, sourced and made in the USA with only three human-grade ingredients: 100 percent pure wild-caught sockeye salmon, yellowfin tuna and shrimp.

“Go ahead, turn the bag around and look at our natural and pure ingredients. We’ve been preaching these words for 14 years now” says Andrea Bourne, marketing manager for PureBites. “PureBites offers pet parents the peace of mind knowing that they are buying treats made with ingredient labels that have one to three ingredients and that are easy to read and understand.

“All PureBites treats are made using a delicate process to ensure only the fewest pure whole ingredients are included. Dogs [and cats] love the taste of PureBites because our treats are 100 percent pure, locking in the aroma, texture and freshness they crave. Dog parents love PureBites because our treats are rich in nutrients for a happy and healthy life. PureBites are the ideal treats for dogs with health issues or pets that are overweight, diabetic, have allergies, gastrointestinal disorders, or are on a restricted diet (low carb, low sodium, low calorie, no grain or raw). “

PureBites Duck Jerky and Freeze Dried Ocean Medle are joining a growing family of one- to three-ingredient treats that now includes 10 raw freeze-dried protein flavors and five pure jerky protein flavors for dogs and 13 raw freeze-dried protein flavors and seven Pure Mixer protein flavors for cats.

PureBites dog treats’ MSRPs range from $4.99 to $69.99; cat treats MSRPs range from $1.49 to $9.99.

NASC Media Spotlight

At first it was just an idea: Animal supplements needed the same quality control that human-grade supplements receive. But that was enough to start a movement and an organization —the National Animal Supplement Council — that would be dedicated to establishing a comprehensive path forward for the animal supplements industry. In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
