(PRESS RELEASE) LENEXA, KS — SmarterPaw, LLC, parent company of award-winning brands Meowijuana and “new for 2021” Doggijuana, is expanding its sales management team with the new hire of Tammy Witmer. Tammy will be the company’s Business Development Director of the Eastern Region.

Witmer joins SmarterPaw with over 20+ years of sales and management experience in the consumer goods industry with a specialized focus on pets. Most recently serving as East Coast Regional Manager for Best N Pet Inc., Witmer brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role at SmarterPaw and its award-winning brands: Meowijuana and Doggijuana.

Based in Pennsylvania, Witmer will serve as a direct line to serving SmarterPaw’s valued customers and distribution partners in the Eastern region. Witmer’s role as Business Development Director is a direct response to the rapid growth and success of both Meowijuana and Doggijuana, as 2020 was another record year of growth for SmarterPaw topped off by receiving the INC. 5000 Award for being one of the 500 fastest growing privately-held companies in America.

“We are thrilled to welcome Tammy to our dynamic team at SmarterPaw,” says Scott Ragan, managing partner and chief executive officer (CEO) of SmarterPaw, LLC. “Not only does Tammy bring a wealth of knowledge and pet industry sales experience to her role, but her addition to our team continues our commitment to working closely, collaborating and tailoring marketing and selling solutions for each of our customers.”

At first it was just an idea: Animal supplements needed the same quality control that human-grade supplements receive. But that was enough to start a movement and an organization —the National Animal Supplement Council — that would be dedicated to establishing a comprehensive path forward for the animal supplements industry. In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
