Promote Pets at Work
Pet Sitters International is offering a free toolkit to encourage businesses to promote and plan for the 20th annual Take Your Pet to Work Day on June 22. The toolkit is a planning guide for participants and provides step-by-step instructions for planning an office event, a sample dogs at work policy and customizable event forms. Saving Pets Challenge Now Open
As part of its commitment to saving animals and enriching lives, Michelson Found Animals Foundation has announced its annual Saving Pets Challenge. The online competition runs May 1-31 and encourages animal welfare organizations to raise money for the chance to win cash prizes to help fund life-saving programs for pets in their communities. Since its inception in 2014, the Saving Pets Challenge has helped raise over $5 million. Last year, over 400 animal welfare organizations competed and raised $1.5 million. Keeping Pets Healthy
An online certification program to educate pet pros on the risk of infectious diseases has recently launched. Known as Heros for Healthy Pets, the program provides best practices for preventative care, including strategic vaccination and cleaning and disinfection protocols to help maintain disease-free facilities and keep pets healthy. Heroes for Healthy Pets certification is free and open to all veterinary and pet professionals. To become certified, participants must complete two educational modules and pass a certification exam. heroes4healthypets.com
Second Connections Expo Planned
The Pet Connections Expo will take place at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center from Oct. 2-3. After a launch in 2017, this year’s focus will continue to be on topics that are most important to independent pet retailers.
