(PRESS RELEASE) SuperZoo, the largest global pet product marketplace, is gearing up to welcome over 21,000 pet industry professionals, Aug. 20-22 in Las Vegas, NV. New show features including the SuperZoo Investor Hub and freshly enhanced New Product Showcase will provide retailers with an exclusive preview into future product development and emerging trends.

The SuperZoo Investor Hub, launching this year on the show floor, is designed to connect investors with companies who are looking for capital investment. Entrepreneurs, product inventors and developers will explore partnerships and acquisition opportunities with leading industry investors and gain knowledge to stay ahead of emerging trends. This exciting new center will create a pipeline of innovative pet product discovery and development. SuperZoo Investor Sessions, presented by leaders in the investor community including Leap Ventures, Purina Innovation, and Factory LLC, will provide insights into the future of product offerings. These onstage discussions educate attendees on securing capital venture funding for product development and advise on how to get in front of the right retail buyers, managing and understanding distribution strategies, growing a pet care startup, and more.

“SuperZoo is uniquely positioned to help ambitious entrepreneurs and forward-thinking investors explore partnerships and acquisition opportunities—all with the vision of remaining ahead of emerging trends and shaping the future of pet retail,” said Courtney Harold, vice president of sales, marketing & business development, WPA. “SuperZoo is where the future of the industry takes shape from product development to product discovery. As we strive to collectively grow the industry and support our thriving community, SuperZoo sets the foundation for pet retail success by providing a platform to bring this community together.

The recently enhanced New Product Showcase will now house both the Pet Tech Center and the Made in the USA Showcase, forming one large trend-focused location and a one-stop-shop for cutting-edge pet product offerings. This expanded show floor destination will showcase innovative products, as well as provide relevant content and education sessions to give retailers the support they need to successfully bring technology trends and locally made products into their stores.

The New Product Showcase awards have also been revamped to shine the light on categories growing in importance to retailers and their customers. Newly announced award categories include Innovation, New Nutrition Product, Technology, Shelf Appeal, Lifestyle, Point of Purchase, and Humanized Pet Product. These updated classifications give a fresh spin to one of the most popular show features and highly anticipated award revelations.

At first it was just an idea: Animal supplements needed the same quality control that human-grade supplements receive. But that was enough to start a movement and an organization —the National Animal Supplement Council — that would be dedicated to establishing a comprehensive path forward for the animal supplements industry. In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
