(PRESS RELEASE) MADISON, NJ — Sure Petcare, the leading pet technology specialist, today announced a Veterinary Recommendation Program among U.S. veterinary hospitals. The program offers veterinary hospitals a commission for each online transaction that results from a recommendation of select SURE PETCARETM connected products, including the ANIMO Activity & Behavior Monitor, SUREFEED Microchip Pet Feeder Connect and SUREFLAP Microchip Cat Door Connect.

The program was developed in response to veterinarians who expressed strong interest in SURE PETCARETM products but did not have space for additional inventory during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Functioning on a zero-inventory model, customers who purchase select products through a web link provided by their veterinarian on Sure Petcare’s website also receive a discount and free shipping.

“It can be difficult for pet parents to spot subtle changes in their pet’s activity and behavior, which may indicate a change in their health or well-being,” said Dr. Nicole E. Sinclair-Torre, DVM, MBA, and associate director, Veterinary Professional Services, Merck Animal Health. “By constantly monitoring a pet’s activity and behavior, our line of connected products can reveal a pet’s usual behavior profile, making it easier to spot when something changes. The Sure Petcare monitoring approach to pet care can provide benefits for veterinarians, pet owners and their pets.”

Veterinary hospitals interested in participating in the program should contact their Merck Animal Health sales representative or visit surepetcare.com/vetrecommendation.

Veterinary hospitals already enjoying the benefits of the Sure Petcare Veterinary Recommendation program have seen success for their practices.

“We strongly suggest utilizing the Sure Petcare Veterinary Recommendation Program to interested veterinary practices,” said Madeline McGowan, hospital manager at Companion Animal Hospital in Wicker Park, Illinois. “It was easy to setup and we don’t have to carry stock which takes away the stress of inventory. It’s great to be rewarded for recommending products we believe in to help pet owners care for their pets. We often recommend the SUREFEED Microchip Pet Feeder Connect to pet owners with a multi-pet household to prevent food stealing while tracking food intake.”

NASC Media Spotlight

At first it was just an idea: Animal supplements needed the same quality control that human-grade supplements receive. But that was enough to start a movement and an organization —the National Animal Supplement Council — that would be dedicated to establishing a comprehensive path forward for the animal supplements industry. In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
