Smart Dog Door Award

(PRESS RELEASE) MADISON, NJ — Sure Petcare, the leading pet technology specialist, announced that it was awarded several honors by New York-based Family Handyman Magazine. The SUREFLAP Microchip Pet Door and the SUREFLAP DualScan Microchip Cat Door were chosen to receive two honors in the category of Microchip Pet Doors. The Microchip Pet Door also was named the Best All-Around Smart Pet Door, while the DualScan Cat Door was awarded the Best for Multi-Cat Homes.

SUREFLAP Microchip Pet Door Awarded Best All-Around Smart Pet Door

The SUREFLAP Microchip Pet Door uses a pet’s existing microchip or the included RFID collar tag to control the opening of the door, which helps to enrich a pet’s life with outdoor access while protecting the owner’s home from the entry of unwanted animals. Easily installed in a door, window or wall, it works to allow any animal to exit while allowing only animals with a recognized microchip or RFID tag to enter. It can store up to 32 pet identities and includes a curfew mode that can be programmed to lock and unlock the door at specified times. Designed for large cats and small dogs, it will operate for up to 12 months with four c-cell batteries and includes a three-year warranty.

SUREFLAP DualScan Microchip Cat Door Awarded Best For Multi-Cat Homes

The SUREFLAP DualScan Microchip Cat Door has many of the same features as the Microchip Pet Door but can set exit permissions for specific pets, making it perfect for multi-cat homes where some cats are not allowed outside. It also includes a safety mode for indoor only cats to gain reentry if they escape through an open door or window.

“We are delighted to be honored in the Family Handyman Awards for our SUREFLAP Microchip Pet Door Connect as it recognizes the work completed by our dedicated team,” said David Hallas, DVM, managing director, Sure Petcare. “This award joins a growing list of previous honors that recognize the innovation and forward thinking that is the basis for all Sure Petcare products.”

NASC Media Spotlight

At first it was just an idea: Animal supplements needed the same quality control that human-grade supplements receive. But that was enough to start a movement and an organization —the National Animal Supplement Council — that would be dedicated to establishing a comprehensive path forward for the animal supplements industry. In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
