Well, that was fun. And educational. And inspiring. The inaugural PETS+ Wellness Summit happened Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 1 and 2, at the Lowes Chicago O’Hare Hotel in Rosemont, IL. Attendees came from across the country to learn about the latest in pet wellness from industry experts and each other, and to meet with leading brands in the space.

The fun kicked off Monday night with a dinner at nearby Maria’s Mexican Restaurant, with independent retailers and service providers getting to know each other over margaritas and fajitas. Tuesday and Wednesday were chock full of educational sessions, both in the ballroom and on the show floor, as well as meetings at exhibitor booths. Other social gatherings included the PETS+ Facebook Community IRL at The Ashburn hotel bar, plus several dinners organized though the PETS+ Wellness Summit app.

Thank you to everyone who came. You can revisit the experience through these photos. Didn’t make it this year? You can click through the gallery to see what all the hype was about, both during and after the event, on social media. And plan to join us for the PETS+ Wellness Summit 2020.

NASC Media Spotlight

At first it was just an idea: Animal supplements needed the same quality control that human-grade supplements receive. But that was enough to start a movement and an organization —the National Animal Supplement Council — that would be dedicated to establishing a comprehensive path forward for the animal supplements industry. In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
