V-dog Supports PETA’s Summer Doghouse Campaign

(PRESS RELEASE) SAN FRANCISCO, CA — V-dog has recently partnered with PETA to support their summer doghouse fundraising campaign in July. This annual program provides doghouses to backyard dogs in need of shelter from the scorching summer heat and freezing winter cold. The US-based vegan dog food company will be donating their popular plant-based kibble, Kinder Kibble, to motivate animal lovers to give.

“Providing adequate housing to dogs is the baseline for proper treatment and together with PETA, we’re excited to help dogs in need of shelter, basic proper care and love,” said Lindsay Rubin, v-dog’s Director of Operations.

This donation is twofold as v-dog will donate 30lb bags of Kinder Kibble to the PETA shelter as part of PETA’s matching challenge: For each of the first 1,200 donations v-dog will donate 5 lbs of Kinder Kibble to the PETA shelter, totaling about 6,000 pounds of food.

“V-Dog’s donation will not only help PETA feed nutritious food to dogs in dire straits, but also raise urgently-needed funds to provide ‘outside dogs’ with the protection and care they desperately need,” said Emily Allen, Director, Community Animal Project at PETA.

PETA staff and volunteers who deliver the houses will also provide lightweight tie-outs to replace heavy chains, flea and tick treatment, and loving attention

“At v-dog, we believe all animals deserve rights, compassion and care. We’re excited to join PETA and help do the most good for these dogs in need,” said Rubin.

PETA’s doghouse program has delivered more than 6,500 doghouses to dogs in need since 2000.

NASC Media Spotlight

At first it was just an idea: Animal supplements needed the same quality control that human-grade supplements receive. But that was enough to start a movement and an organization —the National Animal Supplement Council — that would be dedicated to establishing a comprehensive path forward for the animal supplements industry. In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
