Using contract workers, autonomous vehicles and even drones, Walmart (Bentonville, Ark.) has launched delivery and express delivery of other retailers’ products to customer homes in as little as a few hours, reports the Denver Post.

“In an era where customers have come to expect speed and reliability, it’s more important than ever for businesses to work with a service provider that understands a merchant’s needs,” said John Furner, president and CEO of Walmart’s U.S. division.

The retailer currently offers delivery for its own customers on more than 160,000 products, reaching almost 70 percent of the population. The expanded delivery service, called GoLocal, targets businesses in rural areas that have been unable to develop their own delivery programs.

Walmart has reportedly already signed contractual agreements with national and small businesses, according to the report.
